Philip Glass' music is at once challenging and astounding, with different points of entry and departure for the listener to navigate. Widely known for his minimalist compositions, art music, repetitive structures and Academy Award-nominated soundtracks, Glass is one of the most influential contemporary composer/musicians of the late 20th century.
Presenting an evening of Glass' significant and substantial body of work, the program includes performances of the dynamic Etudes II & X and the bittersweet Metamorphosis II, III, IV, both for solo piano. Also included is Glass' Tissues from the Qatsi film Naqoyqatsi as well as Closing from his 1982 album Glassworks.
Joined by cellist Wendy Sutter and percussionist Mick Rossi for an evening of chamber music, Glass' performance promises his signature arrangement and unforgettable music.
